At Pennine Garden Centre, we're looking for a passionate and experienced Catering Manager to lead our busy restaurant operation. This is a full time role working on average 38 hours per week including alternate weekends.

This is not a role where you'll be sat in an office all day. We're looking for someone who enjoys being at the heart of the action, supporting their team, engaging with customers, overseeing service and ensuring standards remain consistently high. You'll be equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves during busy periods as you are analysing performance, managing costs and planning for future success.

What You'll Be Responsible For

As Catering Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of our restaurant and kitchen, ensuring we deliver great food, excellent service and a fantastic customer experience every day. You'll lead and develop a team of supervisors, chefs and front-of-house colleagues whilst taking ownership of key business performance measures including sales, labour costs and margins.

You'll play a vital role in:

• Leading, coaching and developing a large catering team.
• Managing rotas, labour costs and departmental performance.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service, cleanliness and food safety.
• Supporting the delivery of seasonal events and promotions.
• Managing stock, ordering and reducing wastage.
• Working closely with senior leaders to plan menus, promotions and future trading opportunities.
• Using sales and performance data to identify opportunities and improve results.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who understands that great catering operations are built on two things:

Strong Leadership

You know how to motivate a team, set clear expectations and create a positive working environment. You're confident leading from the front, providing support when needed and holding your team accountable for delivering excellent service.

Commercial Awareness

You understand the numbers behind a successful hospitality business. You can balance customer experience with sales performance, labour costs, stock control and margin management. You enjoy using data to make informed decisions and drive improvements.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience managing large teams.
• Experience running a fast-paced catering, hospitality or restaurant operation.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach.
• The ability to remain calm and focused in a busy environment.
• A genuine passion for delivering great customer experiences.
