Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $27.00 - $29.00 Base+Commission/monthAssists Members and Department Heads with their event planning needs. Will promote the club’s dining facilities for private banquets, business and social meetings and other member-related activities by assisting the Director of Catering. Develop contracts for and assists with administrative and operational aspects of preparing and serving events. Work with catering, food & beverage, culinary and other departments to assure that the Members’ expectations are met and exceeded.

- Supports Catering Director in keeping accurate Banquet Event Orders for each event.
- Assists in arranging all event needs, including but not limited to decorations, flowers, linen, rental equipment, staging, entertainment, menu cards, and audio-visual needs for private events, club events or special dining room requests.
- Assists in planning, promoting, and generating enthusiasm and interest for the Club’s diverse social programs.
- Present to oversee the greeting and serving of the guests for both private and Club events.
- Contributes to revenue growth opportunities and ensures timely, accurate invoice processing, banquet billing and arranges prompt payment for all events.
- Helps members arrange business meetings, Club Events, and internal meetings. Will assist Catering Director planning banquets, luncheons, meetings, weddings, dances and other social events; obtains pertinent information needed for Member planning.
- Develops and distributes event contracts and Banquet Event Orders (BEO).
- Transmits necessary information to and coordinates event planning with production, serving and housekeeping staffs; arranges for printing of menus, procuring of decorations, entertainment, and other special requests, etc.
- Inspects finished arrangements; may be present to oversee the actual greeting and serving of guests.
- Handles event inquiries and cares about the details that go into a successful event.
- Maintains correspondence with golf and wellness departments and internal department heads to determine catering needs for Club events.
- Liaison between catering department and members; provides catering guidelines, menus, directions, photos, etc. to Members.
- Maintains past and potential member files
- Knowledge of various drinks, sales techniques, member relation’s practices, telephone etiquette, applicable liquor policies and procedures and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Analyses functions to determine future needs and to implement necessary changes for increased quality.
- Ensures the security of valuables (club’s, guests’, and members’ property) during catered events.
- Has a heartfelt hospitality attitude.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Creates room layout diagrams containing banquet item placement and related function details.
- Updates event and BEO information for all affected staff.
- Serves as liaison between kitchen, service, and management staff.
- Assists in maintaining club’s master calendar.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of banquet operations including foods, beverages, service techniques, and guest interaction.
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with members and employees.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize in an efficient manner.
- Exercise independent judgment within established policy and procedure guidelines.
- A minimum of 2 years previous catering experience at a club, hotel or fine dining establishment.
- College degree preferred or equivalent requirement.
