Catering Assistant
Berkshire Independent Hospital, Reading
Part-Time, 14 hours per week
The role:
Berkshire Independent Hospital, part of the Ramsay Health Care Group are looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team.
Reporting to the Catering Supervisor you will provide a high standard of catering service, as part of the support services team. Some experience is preferred,
although we will provide all training necessary for the position. It will benefit you if you’ve worked previously in a fast paced environment to high standards.
This is a part-time role, 14 hours per week with shifts between 7am-6pm Monday to Saturday. 7hour shift covering weekends and weeks days .

The Berkshire Independent Hospital is one of Berkshire’s leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare, treatments and services. The hospital, built in 1993, has 35 individual patient rooms all with en suite facilities. By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services.
Key responsibilities will include:
To obtain food and beverage orders from patients, staff and visitors to the hospital
To assist in the preparation and service of food to patients, staff and visitors to the hospital
To clean on a daily basis all areas of the catering department to the agreed standard
To have a good understanding of current health and hygiene regulations, and ensure that these are adhered to in the preparation and service of all foodstuffs
Preparing breakfast and assisting the chefs
What you will bring with you:
A willingness to work positively with a team to achieve team goals and excellence in service delivery
Possess Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate for Catering (if not already held company funded training must be undertaken)
Outstanding professional customer service and inter-personal skills
Friendly, outgoing personality
