Catering Assistant

Excel Recruitment is seeking to recruit experienced Catering Assistants to work in kitchens and canteens in Dublin at Hospitals, Nursing homes, and Corporate Units. The work is casual with various shifts available.

An ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Catering Assistant in Ireland or the EU; excellent communication and time management skills; ability to work in a team and on their own initiative; will have a good level of spoken English; be flexible and be able to maintain a strict professional approach to work at all times.

As a Catering Assistant, you will be responsible for basic food preparation tasks; be responsible for the hygiene and cleanliness of food preparation areas, food serving, and basic cleaning tasks.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant
• Good level of spoken English
• Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative
• Excellent time management skills and work ethic

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation
• Organise food preparation areas
• Serve patients and residents
• Understand daily menu portion control
• Follow dietary charts
• Ensure counters are replenished and tidy throughout service
• Ensuring chefs are equipped with food and tools they need
• Be prepared to carry out any additional duties outside of general duties
• To follow the agreed HACCP standards and procedures
• To follow, record and document all cleaning as required by the kitchen procedures
