Category Strategist Family Dollar CMG

Charlotte, NC

Serves as a category thought leader and retail advisor for the Everyday CMG business, responsible for translating shopper, category, and performance insights into actionable strategies that drive category growth and retailer success.

Responsibilities

1.Develop Category Growth Strategy
•Build insight-led, shopper-driven strategies to grow the total category and Hershey’s business inclusive of digital shelf
•Identify growth opportunities across assortment, pricing, and merchandising
•Support 3-year and annual plans using data-driven insights
2.Turn Insights into Action
•Analyze and synthesize:
•Business trends
•Competitive dynamics
•Shopper behavior
•Financial performance
•Convert insights into clear recommendations and solutions for Family Dollar
3.Act as a Trusted Retail Advisor: Provide objective, data-backed recommendations to Family Dollar utilizing assortment of insights to drive customer KPIs
4.Be the Subject Matter Expert to the Organization: Advocate for the Family Dollar shopper by sharing trends, shopper first insights, and customer KPIs
5.Lead Category Initiatives & Projects: activate test and learn scenarios; be the undisputed project manager to deliver scale across projects and other initiatives
Skills/Qualifications

High-performing Category Strategist

-Seen as an indispensable partner to the retailer
-Consistently delivers category growth + Hershey share gains
-Influenced both strategic (3 year plans) and tactical (POG, shelf, promo) decisions
-Turns complex data into clear, actionable recommendations
•Knowledge of both syndicated and 1st party data platforms (i.e. Circana, Nielsen, SymphonyAI, Stratum, etc)
•Experience with loyalty data (Scintilla, Stratum, DunnHumby) strongly recommended
•Intermediate to advanced proficiency in space planning software (i.e. JDA, Apollo)
Education
•Minimum Bachelors Degree required
•Min 5 years in Category Management or similar function
