Category Specialist
Job Purpose
Support the Head of Category in executing category strategies, lead sourcing projects, and manage supplier relationships across assigned categories.
Reporting & Context
Commercial Division, Strategic Sourcing department, reporting to the Senior Category Specialist. Established March 2025, approved by the Chief Commercial Officer.
Key Accountabilities
Procurement Operations Execute daily procurement activities — RFQ preparation, bid evaluation, PO issuance, and supplier follow-up.
Supplier & Contract Administration Manage supplier communications on order status, delivery, and quality; assist with contract renewals and compliance monitoring.
Data & Reporting Collect and analyse spend data, supplier performance, and compliance metrics; prepare regular reports for the category team and management.
Stakeholder Support Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements; support the Senior Category Specialist and Head of Category on sourcing and improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Improvement Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and safety standards; identify process improvement opportunities.
Innovation & Technology Utilise digital tools, AI, and automation to improve procurement efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
Value Creation Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and process optimisation aligned with corporate objectives.
IMS Compliance Adhere to QAFCO Integrated Management Systems (Quality, HSE, Environment, Responsible Care, Energy).
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Professional certification in Supply Chain or procurement (CIPS, CPSM or equivalent) is an advantage. 3–5 years of direct and relevant procurement/sourcing experience. Competency levels as defined in QAFCO Skill Catalogue (MAd-002).
You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office
