The Opportunity

As part of Primark's dynamic Marketing team, the Category Marketing Officer supports the accurate and timely delivery of category campaigns, product launches, seasonal moments and key trading initiatives.

Working closely with Marketing and cross-functional teams, this role coordinates product timelines, creative assets, approvals, meetings and reporting to ensure activity moves seamlessly from briefing through to execution.

Offering broad exposure to integrated marketing within a fast-paced retail environment, the position provides an excellent foundation for building a successful career in category and campaign marketing while contributing to impactful customer-facing campaigns across the Primark business.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Coordination & Delivery Support

  • Coordinate the delivery with buying stakeholders of allocated category campaigns, launches and seasonal activity.
  • Maintain campaign timelines, performas, trackers, schedules and milestone updates across multiple initiatives directly into the buying function
  • Track progress and ensure buying stakeholders have clear visibility of status, actions and deadlines.
  • Work closely with trade planning and operations to support campaign workflows from briefing through activation and close-out.
  • Escalate product delays, risks, missing information or dependencies promptly to your line manager

Asset & Approval Management

  • Coordinate the flow of creative, copy, product information and campaign assets across buying functions
  • Maintain version control and ensure the correct approved materials are distributed and used accordingly
  • Keep organized records of briefs, assets, decisions and supporting documents.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Schedule meetings, campaign check-ins, reviews and planning sessions as part of an integrated category process.
  • Communicate campaign status and changes clearly to relevant buying stakeholders.
  • Build reliable working relationships and provide responsive day-to-day support.

Campaign Administration & Planning Support

  • Support Marketing Managers with status updates, presentations and day-to-day administration into the buying function.
  • Follow agreed processes, templates and governance requirements.

Reporting & Insight Support

  • Gather campaign delivery and performance information from relevant teams and ensure buying is always informed.
  • Support weekly status reports and post-campaign performance summaries.
  • Help maintain records of objectives, results, learning and actions.
  • Undertake basic customer, competitor and market research where required.
  • Highlight obvious gaps, inconsistencies or emerging issues to the Marketing Manager.

Process & Ways of Working

  • Maintain strong organisation across files, tools, systems and shared workspaces.
  • Identify simple opportunities to improve coordination, workflow and efficiency.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines, seeking clarification when priorities conflict.
  • Demonstrate discretion, accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 2+ years experience in marketing, coordination, project support or a similar role is desirable.
  • Exposure to retail, ecommerce, fashion, consumer or commercial environments is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting projects, campaigns or cross-functional teams is beneficial.
  • Interest in customers, fashion, retail and marketing.

Skills

  • Strong organisation, coordination and time management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through on actions.
  • Confidence using spreadsheets, presentation tools and shared digital systems.
  • Basic understanding of marketing or campaign processes is desirable.
  • Proactive, dependable and comfortable asking questions
