Job Description

At eBay, we're more than a global ecommerce leader — we’re changing the way the world shops and sells. Our platform empowers millions of buyers and sellers in more than 190 markets around the world. We’re committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.

Our customers are our compass, authenticity thrives, bold ideas are welcome, and everyone can bring their unique selves to work — every day. We're in this together, sustaining the future of our customers, our company, and our planet.

Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.

eBay Live is a new way to sell on eBay, where sellers and buyers interact live on video. eBay sellers build buyer trust, expand their customer base, and grow repeat business through consistent and engaging live streams on eBay Live.

We are looking for experienced Live Commerce Category Managers to lead across Home & Garden on eBay Live. You will own end-to-end efforts to expand the category, including but not exclusive to: building playbooks, running launch pilots, identifying product dependencies, etc. As the category grows, you will work closely with cross-functional partners to help sellers succeed on this platform, and be responsible for delivering on achievable (but aggressive!) GMV targets. You will be responsible for advocating for your sellers, for understanding our platform and how it needs to change, and helping us build a program that scales.

Visit to sample past events and to see what’s coming up next!

What you will do:

  • Category Growth & P&L Management:

  • Deliver GMV targets through strategic category plans, continuously refined by learnings from new content and format trials.

  • Seller Ecosystem & Success:

  • Set the strategy for recruiting, onboarding, and cultivating a portfolio of high-potential live sellers, brands, and creators.

  • Create a playbook to coach sellers on all aspects of live selling: from assortment and developing innovative run-of-show/format ideas to on-camera performance, live audience engagement, and using analytics for growth.

  • Live Content & Programming Innovation:

  • Develop a pipeline of engaging live events, fostering creative show concepts and encouraging sellers to test new, interactive "shoppertainment" formats.

  • Drive an editorial standard to elevate content quality and viewer experience.

  • Performance Analysis & Best Practice Development:

  • Track category performance and analyze outcomes from pilot programs and new format trials to identify key growth drivers.

  • Actively contribute to defining meaningful KPIs and scalable best practices for the evolving live commerce landscape.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operations:

  • Partner with internal teams (marketing, product, operations) to champion seller needs, share insights, and drive platform success.

  • Lead category-specific budgets and operational aspects efficiently.

What you will bring:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent, with 5+ years of relevant ecommerce experience working directly with sellers and retailers

  • Experience and interest in Live selling formats.

  • Proven track record leading multiple priorities simultaneously with minimum guidance.

  • Strong project management, organization, and partner engagement skills, including multitasking to lead and execute projects.

  • Excellent analytical skills; you must be able to pull insights from data with facility, create and test hypotheses and read out your results and generally put together qualitative and quantitative data to drive forward a learning agenda

  • The hunger to work in a very fast paced startup environment with rapid iteration and flexibility to work extended hours if needed

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with sellers and internal team members.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to meet in person with accounts (up to 15% of month).
