What You’ll Be Doing

Are you a commercially minded Category Manager with a passion for driving growth through product, market and customer insights?

We're looking for a Category Manager to lead our Textures and Renders portfolio, including Dulux Acratex, Specialized Construction Products along with Protective Coatings. This is an exciting opportunity to influence portfolio strategy, identify growth opportunities and bring new products and initiatives to market across New Zealand.

Working closely with local and Australian stakeholders, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our textures product offering while partnering with technical, sales and operational teams to deliver strong business outcomes.

This role can be based in either Auckland or Wellington.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a high-impact textures and renders portfolio across NZ
  • Identify market opportunities and assess their potential for New Zealand
  • Develop business cases and support new product development and launches
  • Lead portfolio reviews, lifecycle management and profitability initiatives
  • Partner with sales, technical, commercial and operational stakeholders
  • Drive product performance through data-led commercial decision making
  • Collaborate closely with Australian category and marketing teams
  • Support the development of customer-facing technical and product information

What we're looking for

You'll bring experience in category, product or commercial marketing management and enjoy working in environments where commercial thinking, collaboration and influence are critical.

You'll also have:

  • Experience within construction industry is preferred
  • Proven category management, product management or commercial marketing experience
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability
  • Experience developing business cases and growth initiatives
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building capability
  • A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Commerce or a related discipline
  • Exposure to technically complex products and stakeholder groups
  • Experience developing and executing category growth strategies
  • Product lifecycle management and new product development experience
