Purpose of role:

This role is responsible to drive category growth by using shopper and market insights to optimize product assortment, pricing, and shelf execution. Work closely with Sales, Shopper Marketing, and Key Account teams to improve product visibility, enhance shopping experience, and deliver business growth

Responsibilities include:

Category Strategy

  • Support the development and execution of category strategies to drive growth across channels and key customers.

  • Analyze shopper, market, and competitor insights to identify opportunities and provide actionable recommendations that improve category performance.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Shopper Marketing teams to deliver category plans, support business reviews, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.

Assortment & SKU Management

  • Optimize product assortment and product mix across channels to maximize sales, profitability, and shopper relevance.

  • Analyze SKU and product performance to identify opportunities for expansion, rationalization, and successful new product launches.

  • Recommend and implement data-driven assortment strategies that support customer needs and drive category growth

Shelf & Space Management

  • Develop and implement effective planograms and shelf strategies to improve product visibility and category performance.

  • Optimize shelf space using sales, market, and shopper insights while monitoring execution compliance across retail partners.

  • Partner with field sales teams to ensure excellent in-store execution and identify opportunities to enhance visibility through secondary displays and strategic product placement.

Pricing & promotion input

  • Provide category recommendations on pricing, pack architecture, and promotional strategies to drive sales and profitability.

  • Analyze pricing and promotional performance to identify opportunities and improve return on investment (ROI).

  • Partner with Sales and Shopper Marketing teams to develop customer-focused promotional plans and respond to competitive market activities

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze sales, market, shopper, and retail performance data to identify growth opportunities and support business decisions.

  • Develop reports and actionable insights that help improve category performance, distribution, and execution effectiveness.

  • Evaluate promotional and category initiatives, providing recommendations to optimize results and drive continuous improvement

Who are you?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Sales Planning, or Commercial Excellence within FMCG.

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

  • Experience with category management tools, Nielsen/Circana data, and retail analytics.

  • Good understanding of shopper behavior, retail execution, and category management principles.

  • Experience in Nielsen data, space management/ shelf layout & consumer research methodology.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team and has contributed to the achievement of a team's success

  • Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills

  • Strong strategic thinking and executional skills, capable of building for simplicity and attention to detail
