Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious, proactive, and highly adaptable Procurement Category Manager to join our growing Procurement team. In this role, you are the right hand the Director of Global Procurement, managing a diverse portfolio of global categories, including: Prosthetics, Orthotics, Shoes, Insoles, Materials, Tools and Retails Items. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic, global environment and is ready to take on a wide range of procurement responsibilities, with a hands-on, results-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Define & Execute Procurement Strategies:

  • Take ownership of a variety of global indirect procurement categories, including but not limited to Prosthetics, Orthotics, Shoes, Insoles, Materials, Tools and Retails Items. Define and execute strategic procurement plans tailored to the needs of each area.
  • Develop and implement category strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance, while driving efficiency and meeting business objectives.
  • Work with the Director Global Procurement to ensure procurement activities align with broader organizational goals and support long-term business success.
  • Lead projects from inception to completion, proactively identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Be a key player in high-level procurement decision-making, ensuring that the business has the right resources and solutions to meet its evolving needs.
  • (changed order) Act as the trusted partner to the Director Global Procurement, providing insights and support in the development and execution of procurement strategies.

Find Opportunities for Value Creation:

  • Continuously scan the market to uncover opportunities for cost reductions, new supplier relationships, process optimizations, and innovative solutions.
  • Proactively engage & stay connected with stakeholders across the business to understand evolving needs, translating these into strategic procurement opportunities.
  • Use data and market intelligence to identify trends, supplier innovations, and potential risks that could affect category performance.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure alignment with business objectives and timely execution of procurement plans.
  • Responsible for supplier negotiations and lead them as an owner, ensuring favorable commercial terms, robust service-level agreements (SLAs), and long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Ensure supplier performance is delivered as agreed, manage contract compliance, and drive supplier innovation to enhance value across categories.

Risk & Compliance Management:

  • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including financial, operational, and reputational risks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure that contracts and supplier agreements align with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the procurement team and across the organization.
  • Regularly review procurement processes to identify efficiencies, improve transparency, and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to continuously enhance procurement outcomes, ensuring the organization remains agile and responsive to market changes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ of experience in procurement, with a proven track record in category management.
  • Lead cross functional category teams
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to define and execute procurement strategies that align with both short-term and long-term business goals.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with experience in managing supplier relationships and securing favorable terms for the organization.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to handle multiple categories and priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner.
  • A deep understanding of procurement best practices and market trends, with the ability to identify new opportunities and drive change.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to leverage data to guide decisions, track performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications like MCIPS, CIPS, or equivalent are highly desirable.
