Lyreco Thailand is seeking a highly driven and strategic Head of Category (Category Manager) to take full ownership of assigned product categories. This role is responsible for defining and driving category strategy, developing and executing commercial plans, and delivering sales targets in line with the company’s business objectives.
You will lead end-to-end category management, including supplier negotiation, performance tracking, and continuous optimization of product and supplier portfolios. Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute effective category strategies to achieve sales target & business objectives.
Analyze market insights, trends, product performance, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
Manage buying and merchandising operations within approved plans and budgets to achieve target profitability and gross sales.
Supplier Management & Negotiation
Negotiate agreements and commercial terms with suppliers to secure competitive offerings and maximize category performance.
Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with suppliers to ensure product quality, availability, and business continuity.
Coordinate supplier-related documentation in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Collect and manage other income under responsibility to meet targeted revenue.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations teams to execute category plans.
Create and communicate marketing campaigns and sales-driving initiatives to support category performance.
Work with internal teams to ensure effective inventory planning, stock availability, and alignment with company policy.
Performance Monitoring
Evaluate and track category performance, proposing action plans when needed to improve outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
7–10 years of direct experience in buying, merchandising, sourcing, purchasing, or category management—preferably within the retail or B2B sector.
Strong negotiation skills with proactive and initiative-driven working style.
Excellent command of English (verbal & written)
Able to work & manage multiple tasks, and deliver results effectively.
Strong collaboration mindset with a positive attitude.
Strong computer literacy; proficiency in Excel and experience with SAP is an advantage.
