Purpose of role:
The Category Analyst is responsible for delivering clear, actionable insights to support business growth across the SEAK region.
The role uses data from sources like IQVIA, Nielsen, and retailers, combining technical skills (Power BI, SQL) with category understanding to turn data into meaningful recommendations.
It also ensures consistent reporting, builds automated dashboards, and supports teams with insights that can be applied across different markets while staying aligned with global standards
Responsibilities include:
Category Analytics & Performance Measurement
Technical Analytics, Data Modelling & Automation
Stakeholder & Market Support
Partner with global, regional and local market teams to support planning cycles, business reviews, category reviews and key initiatives.
Enable local teams by providing standard tools, dashboards and frameworks, reducing ad‑hoc reporting needs.
Act as a trusted analytical advisor to Category Development, Sales & Marketing
Insight to action & Commercial Enablement
Translate category, channel, customer, and SKU-level analysis into specific, executable recommendations aligned to growth objectives.
Clearly articulate the “What / So What / Now What” in all deliverables.
Identify incremental growth levers (e.g. distribution expansion, pricing actions, promo optimisation, range changes) and quantify potential impact where possible
Develop insight packs that guide decision-making for:
- Range optimisation and SKU role clarity
- Pricing gaps, architecture and price execution
- Channel and customer opportunity prioritisation
Who are you?
Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, accounting, data analytics or equivalent field
Minimum 5 years of working experience in data analytics related role
Advanced Power BI (data modelling, DAX, performance optimisation)
Strong SQL capability (querying, joins, transformations, data validation)
Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot)
Hands-on experience with IQVIA and Nielsen data sets
Ability to convert analytics into clear commercial recommendations
Confident in synthesising large, complex datasets into focused insights
Experience working across multiple markets or regions is highly preferred
Experience integrating retailer scan data across multiple markets or customers
Strong analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to turn data into clear insights
Agile, proactive, and able to manage priorities while adapting to change
Strong communicator who builds relationships and delivers customer-focused results
