RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for space planning and drawing of the modulars for Walmart, which is completed annually. This position will work across multiple categories, executing modular design and updates that support category strategies.
  • This is a Walmart Category Management position which works with other category advisors on the team for the categories we support. This position supports category strategy development and analytics that align with the customer business goals and growth expectations.
  • Provides support in analyzing business issues and developing insights in the areas of modular strategies, assortment, shelving, pricing, and merchandising to drive business results for Walmart.
  • Supports periodic and ad-hoc reporting including tracking reports on topics such as:
    • assortment optimization
    • new items and their volume transfer
    • market share
    • shelving, aisle tests & new strategies
    • Pricing and promotions
    • ROM and key competitor performance.
    • Supports competitive and marketplace intelligence, analysis, and reporting activities including share gap reporting, price gap reporting, and market visits that determine competitive retailer strategies and tactics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience.
  • Pattern of initiative.
  • Strong skills using technical tools such as Excel, Circana, Panel, customer POS, Space Planning (JDA), etc.
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.

Preferred

  • 3+ years of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience
  • Walmart Category Management Experience, specializing in Scintilla
  • Space Planning Experience

LOCATION: Bentonville Sales Office (Rogers, AR)

A comprehensive relocation package to the Rogers, AR area will be offered, if required.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Category Development Analyst role is between $71,075 - $99,500 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
