Role Overview

The Category Consultant is a vital part of the Trade Development team and the sales organization. Within our team environment, this role encourages entrepreneurial action utilizing data to discover sales problems and develop executable solutions for our sales management teams and customers. This role works closely with our sales teams to discover opportunities and develop planograms, presentations, and reporting that will be used across the organization. This role also has potential upward mobility into our National Accounts teams or other parts of GLWAS that the candidate would be interested in.

Role Responsibilities

  • You will utilize data and tools to tell actionable stories
  • You will analyze market data, build presentations, and present findings / best practices to the sales organization
  • You will create ad-hoc reporting for various management personnel - utilizing several sources
  • You will continue to update already created business-critical internal reporting
  • You will use Tableau to provide & update best-in-class analytics for key teams
  • You will present wine and spirits opportunities to key customers
  • You will draw planograms (POGs) for proposed wine and spirits departments
  • You serve as the liaison for any JDA Space Planning questions

Role Qualifications / Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience within the Adult Beverage industry preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills required
  • Ability to tell a story and sell ideas and concepts utilizing data
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment with multiple priorities
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new skills
  • Ability to work entrepreneurially
  • Strong Microsoft Office - specifically Microsoft Excel - skills required
  • Prior experience with JDA Space Planning preferred
  • Tableau experience a plus
