About the Role

The Category Buyer Logistics will be responsible for purchasing 3PL logistic services (Land transport, Warehousing) in Americas for Barry Callebaut, a market leader industry in Chocolate and Cocoa. This role actively participates in the sourcing and negotiation of 3PL logistics services (land transportation and warehousing) while contributing to initiatives that enhance service, performance, cost optimization, and supplier relationships. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external logistics providers to conduct strategic sourcing events. This is a highly visible opportunity within a global leader in the chocolate and cocoa industry, offering the chance to make data‑driven decisions and manage complex projects.

Job Responsibilities Include

  • Contracting third party logistic service providers.
  • Prepare and run Sourcing Events & RFX for the categories in scope, dealing with all relevant stakeholders (service providers, internal customers and cross functional teams).
  • Collect data, complete market research, define terms and conditions, negotiate proposals and finalize SLA’s/KPI’s.
  • Manage service providers, follow market trends and legislative changes.
  • Implement purchasing policy and best practices.
  • Benchmark new logistics opportunities to best align with company goals
  • Maintain the database of new/potential partners to include in future Sourcing Events
  • Track logistics spend, perform detailed analysis and report results

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in transportation sourcing, or procurement experience in Indirect Spend areas
  • Experience in Project Management or Logistics Operations is a plus
  • Experience with e-Procurement platforms
  • Operational autonomy, self-reliance but able to play in a team
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (stakeholder management)
  • Professionalism, discretion, reliability and ability to make data driven decision
