CATEGORY BUYER

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute global category strategies for assigned mechanical categories in partnership with the Global Category Director and the lead buyers.
  • Managing new program sourcing
  • Work closely with our Business Unit Interface to identify and execute cost saving opportunities for new customer RFQ
  • Negotiate annual pricing based on regional indices, market factors, and global benchmark data
  • Support regional benchmarking activities for assigned commodities to determine best in class suppliers
  • Collaborate with engineering to confirm technical approval of supplier offers and required validation plans for alternative material approvals
  • Support and execute cost reduction ideas

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least BSc degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant purchasing experience in the Automotive industry
  • Experience in purchasing plastic parts,
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Automotive Supply Chain and life cycle
  • Strong negotiation skills and business acumen
  • Ability to transfer technical matters into economic considerations
  • Knowledge in cost calculation
  • Strong communication skills and assertiveness
  • High stress resilience
  • Business fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with rubber we consider is a plus
