Job Description

Expected Contributions

  • Lead the monthly category scan and shopper performance reports and any ad hoc data requirements

  • Integrate consumer, shopper and category insights and trends into the customer and deliver the battery category range reviews with key retailers

  • Lead the category work to provide the Sales Team with guidance by channel in terms of pricing, sizing and promotional strategy (frequency, depth, product choices) - to maximize sales and margin delivery as well as market share growth potential

  • Develop strong working relationships with cross functional teams including by not limited to sales, category, marketing/shopper marketing and supply chain

  • Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd party data providers and be the key contact between ANZ market and Regional/Global marketing

Key Responsibilities

  • Review Category & Shopper performance continuously to understand drivers and make recommendations on opportunities and next steps to the business

  • Support the commercial function with additional analysis and insights to mitigate risk and exploit short term opportunities to close gaps to annual business plan

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and other tools to track category performance and provide insights to stakeholders on a monthly basis

  • Conduct competitive analysis to understand market trends and benchmark against competitors

  • Work alongside sales team to develop promotional guidelines (depth and frequency) to reach sales objectives while continuously analyzing scan results and ROI, making changes where necessary

  • Work with Sales and Finance teams to make recommendations on product assortment for Off Location Displays with the aim of maximizing ROI and driving category sales

  • Work with 3rd party data agencies to ensure legitimacy of databases and make corrections where necessary

  • Support Category and Marketing Manager with developing a product range across all key selling channels

  • Support Category and Marketing Manager with developing a price list

  • Support the Category and Shopper Marketing Manager across key retailer range reviews including category and shopper insights, innovation and planogram recommendations

  • Construct planogram recommendations that deliver optimal category flow, blocking & adjacencies by updating and maintaining retailer planogram recommendations

  • Support Category and Marketing Manager with all regional reports and requests

  • Administrative responsibilities for inputting into the Marketing Intelligence budget, encompassing day to day Purchase to Payment (PTP) support.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Category/Sales experience in FMCG industry

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing / commerce economics / business (or equivalent)

  • Evidence of strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and use of Nielsen/Aztec/Unify Systems (scan & panel)

  • Demonstrates ownership and a self-starter

  • Demonstrates a growth mindset, ability to be a team player and goal driven

  • Consistently demonstrate ethical behaviors and integrity beyond reproach

  • Planning, organizing and hands-on experience in execution of shopper plans

  • Literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (Intermediate/Advanced level)

  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills (amidst ambiguity)

  • Passion & stamina to go the long haul in a fast-growing market

  • Passion for implementing processes and driving continuous improvements

  • May lead projects in the business on an ad hoc basis

  • Strong communication skills (verbally & written)

  • Is open-minded and demonstrate a “can do” approach. Is resourceful and inventive

  • Demonstrates the ability to deliver on objectives, across functions and in challenging circumstances

  • Display high level of resilience under internal & external pressure

  • Has a bias for action.
