About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Category Assistant to join our Merchandise team based in our Heatherton office.

In this role, you will work closely with the Category Manager, supporting day-to-day category activities, including assisting with the execution of category plans, maintaining data accuracy, and coordinating promotional activities that keep our stores competitive.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assist with the execution of category plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the product master file, ensuring all product details, pricing, and attributes are correct and up to date
  • Coordinate catalogue and digital promotional submissions including administrative support ensuring accurate planning, documentation, and execution
  • Prepare basic analysis for suppliers, category reviews and competitor checks as directed
  • Manage store communications and ensure information is clear and accurate
  • Act as first point of contact for stores regarding category related queries; log, track and resolve queries, escalating when necessary.
  • Build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams

You’re Likely a Match If You have

  • Previous experience as a Category Assistant or similar role in retail
  • Strong Excel skills and comfortable working with ERP systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and eager to learn
  • Hardware or Power Tool/Power Garden product knowledge is a bonus
