Job Description

The Slip Tender supports the traffic and vessel operations at the terminal by maintaining the terminal clean and locating trailers at the terminal. The main responsibility is using the computer control system to operate the ramp.

Note: Due to business needs, this positions is required to be fully on-site at 7700 Hopcott Road, Delta.

What you'll do

  • Operates the ramp by using hydraulics and computer control systems.
  • Stay in the booth each time a ship comes in a slip (2-5 minutes minimum, three times a day).
  • Assists with loading store items that were delivered to the terminal onboard the vessel.
  • Maintains the terminal or yard clean and organize.
  • Helps with trailer locating.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Forklift Operator certificate is an asset.

  • Communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to solve issues independently.

The estimated salary for this position is $32.49 / hour. Please note, candidates must be willing to apply for union membership with the TC Local 1976 USW. This is a temporary, casual position. The length of the employment is undetermined at this time.
