About the role:
This is a casual position working across a 24/7 roster located in Southwest Sydney.
Base hourly rate of $45.28 plus 12 % super & 25% casual loading, plus evening and weekend penalty rates.
Industry specific training and development opportunities, including participation in fortnightly therapeutic consultations to ensure we embed therapeutic practice in our program.

Uniting is seeking passionate trauma informed youth workers to join our team. You will be working within a small dynamic team of youth workers and caseworkers who provide day to day support and case management for 12 to 15 year old’s who are homeless and reside in the Stepping Stones accommodation service. Support is provided through the Homeless Youth Assistance Program (HYAP) and our aim is to work collaboratively with young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
The team at Stepping Stones believes every young person has the right to heal, recover and be their own voice of change.
You will work closely with the young people in the service to support the development of their independent living skills, engagement with education, social skills and community engagement.
About You:
• Relevant qualification or working towards obtaining qualifications in social work, youth work, community services or related field
• Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable and at-risk young people and evidence of working with challenging behaviours
• Ability to recognise the effects of trauma on the development of young people and willingness to develop therapeutic practice
• Understanding of the child protection legislation and experience working within legislation
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work a rotating roster that will be required to work across weekends, nights and sleep over shifts
• The ability to develop rapport and build meaningful relationships with young people and their families
• Current NSW Drivers licence and NSW WWCC
