  • Casual position with an hourly rate starting at $51.24 plus superannuation of 12% (HEW Level 4) - Based at our Vibrant St Lucia Campus.

About This Opportunity 

We have a fantastic opportunity for multiple Casual Library Service Officers to join UQ Library and help support teaching, learning, and research across the University.

In this dynamic, front-facing role, you’ll be at the heart of the student experience providing high-quality customer service support and helping students and staff confidently navigate library resources, systems, and services. You’ll thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, contributing to a responsive and seamless service for the UQ community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing timely advice on library resources, systems, and support services

  • Understanding client needs, including technical queries, and offering effective solutions or referrals

  • Supporting operations across multiple service areas and locations

  • Contributing to a flexible roster to support service delivery

Please note:

  • This role offers a variety of rostered shifts, providing flexibility to support study and other commitments, along with opportunities to participate in ongoing training

About You

  • Currently enrolled at UQ with a strong understanding of the student experience

  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality customer service, with confidence using a wide range of tools and systems

  • Proven ability to produce accurate work with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with clear and effective communication skills

  • A collaborative and positive team player who contributes to an inclusive and supportive team culture

  • Comfortable navigating library management systems, or quick to learn new technologies and systems
