Casual position with an hourly rate starting at $51.24 plus superannuation of 12% (HEW Level 4) - Based at our Vibrant St Lucia Campus.
We have a fantastic opportunity for multiple Casual Library Service Officers to join UQ Library and help support teaching, learning, and research across the University.
In this dynamic, front-facing role, you’ll be at the heart of the student experience providing high-quality customer service support and helping students and staff confidently navigate library resources, systems, and services. You’ll thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, contributing to a responsive and seamless service for the UQ community.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing timely advice on library resources, systems, and support services
Understanding client needs, including technical queries, and offering effective solutions or referrals
Supporting operations across multiple service areas and locations
Contributing to a flexible roster to support service delivery
Please note:
This role offers a variety of rostered shifts, providing flexibility to support study and other commitments, along with opportunities to participate in ongoing training

Currently enrolled at UQ with a strong understanding of the student experience
Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality customer service, with confidence using a wide range of tools and systems
Proven ability to produce accurate work with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Highly organised and self-motivated, with clear and effective communication skills
A collaborative and positive team player who contributes to an inclusive and supportive team culture
Comfortable navigating library management systems, or quick to learn new technologies and systems
