About the Casual Opportunity:

We are seeking enthusiastic Electronics Engineers to join our Engineering and Manufacturing Services Team on a casual basis. Whether you are building your experience through practical engineering work or bringing years of industry expertise, this is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and make a tangible contribution to the University’s teaching and research.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Design and build specialised electronic systems, equipment and prototypes, taking projects from concept through to construction and commissioning.
  • Solve real-world engineering challenges, providing practical technical advice and support to staff and students.
  • Get hands-on with testing, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance and calibration of laboratory, workshop and in-house equipment.
  • Apply your technical expertise across areas such as PCB design, embedded systems, sensors, actuators and data acquisition.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, academics, students, suppliers and external contractors to deliver safe, practical and effective engineering solutions.

About You

You will ideally have:

  • Undergraduate or completed qualifications in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, with relevant practical experience highly regarded.
  • An interest or experience in PCB design, embedded systems, electronics development, sensors, actuators or data acquisition.
  • Strong practical and technical skills, including the ability to construct, test, troubleshoot, repair or maintain electronic equipment.
  • The ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, technical manuals and engineering documentation.
