Staff Non-exemptBucknell University is seeking casual, non-benefits eligible, drivers to assist with transporting university employees, students, and visitors. The successful candidate in this role will use university vehicles (cars, vans, or small buses) to transport university constituents around campus, to downtown Lewisburg, local hotels, airports, and/or other areas as assigned within a distance of no more than 300 miles one-way from campus.

Job Duties:

Reporting Relationship:

  • Reports to the Transportation Coordinator

Work Setting/Schedule:

  • Will be scheduled to work on an as-needed basis

  • Required to work at least one (1) shift per week during the academic year, Monday-Friday, for the on-demand university shuttle

  • Will be expected to work all large university events (Admissions Open Houses, Family Weekend, Reunion, Commencement)

  • Flexibility to work all shifts - days, evenings, and weekends

What You Will Do:

  • Drive university vehicles around campus, downtown Lewisburg, and to other local stops (hotels, etc.)

  • Travel to major airports or destinations (up to 300 miles one-way from campus), which may require traveling in city areas

  • Help passengers get in/out of buses and handle luggage

  • Provide basic information and assistance to passengers

  • Keep records and report any accidents or issues

  • Check email daily and attend required meetings or training

What You Will Bring:

Required

  • Must be 21 or older (for insurance purposes), with a valid U.S. driver’s license

  • A minimum of at least 2 years of driving experience

  • Flexible schedule (mornings, evenings, weekends)

  • Pass a motor vehicle record check

  • Obtain a DOT medical card and successfully complete driver training within 30 days of hire

  • The job description's listed responsibilities and tasks are not exhaustive, additional non-essential tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Preferred, But Not Required

  • Currently possess a DOT card

  • Familiarity with Bucknell and the surrounding area

  • Working knowledge of Workday for time-keeping

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google applications


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to sit & drive for extended periods of time

15.00-15.00

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
