
The Dance Company
The Dance Company is a co-curricular dance program catering to all ages and abilities, from beginners to the elite, developing a diverse range of dance skills and techniques for performance.
The Dance Company offers dance tuition that encourages young people to be creative risk takers, motivated and challenged in a supportive environment. Our Dance Company is a platform for social and emotional growth as we aim for students to develop self-expression, confidence and a sense of belonging. At the end of each semester, the Dance Company presents a concert to showcase class routines.
The Role
Position Dance Coach/Teacher
Reports to: Coordinator of Dance Company

Dance Styles Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical
Duties
1. Dance Coach Program and Practice
• Plan, implement and evaluate dance training and conditioning appropriate to age and skill level.
• Adhere to Safe Dance Practice.
• Selection of appropriate choreography, repertoire and music for each class.
• Assist in costume selection or design for each class.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance at all rehearsals and events via clipboard.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the Dance Company’s program for skill development and progression.
• Assist with and attend performance events.
2. Children's Health and Safety
• Consult with the Coordinator of Dance Company regarding the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child.
• Inform and consult with the Coordinator any concerns regarding the welfare and wellbeing of children in their care.
3. Qualifications and Relevant Experience
• First Aid
• Dance styles: Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical
• Kindergarten (5 years old) to Year 6 (12 years old)
Applicants are required to hold an ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) check and a National Police Check. Both of which must be provided prior to commencement.
