Reporting to the Associate Dean, we are hiring Casual Clinical Faculty to teach clinical courses in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. As a Casual Clinical Faculty member, you will bring your nursing expertise into the clinical environment, supporting students as they develop and apply their nursing knowledge and skills in medical/surgical settings. You will follow approved syllabi, understand and respond to students’ learning needs, and consistently evaluate student performance while addressing issues promptly.
Casual Clinical Faculty work in hospital-based clinical settings in the Saint John area, supervising nursing students during their clinical placements. Clinical schedules and workloads are course-dependent and may include consecutive clinical shifts over an eight-week period.
Influence and impact. You will teach nursing students and help shape how they understand and apply what they learn. Your clinical expertise will give students practical context as they build the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need for their future nursing careers.
Bring your expertise into education. You will use the knowledge and experience you have developed through medical/surgical nursing practice to support students in real clinical settings. You will have the opportunity to develop or continue your teaching practice while working within established syllabi and course expectations.
A focused teaching commitment. This is an opportunity for practicing nurses to contribute to nursing education without moving into a traditional full-time academic role. By taking on a Casual Clinical Faculty role, you will have an opportunity to contribute to nursing education while continuing your professional nursing practice.

We believe compensation should be fair, straightforward, and supportive of your growth. Our salary ranges reflect progression from learning in the role to excelling, with each offer based on skills, experience, and role complexity.
$70 CAD per hour. Hours vary by clinical assignment and are scheduled based on the course, typically either one or two 12-hour shifts per week or six 8-hour shifts over the 8-week module, depending on the placement. This is a casual role and assignments may vary from module to module.
