• Salary Package: From $86,087 (HEW 5) per annum, plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
• Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed-term position until 2 June 2027
• Hybrid work options are possible
• Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

Macquarie Business School is looking for a Casual Academic Staff Administrator to play a vital role in supporting the employment experience of our casual academic community. From first contact through to onboarding, training, and ongoing administration, you'll ensure our casual academics feel informed, supported, and connected.

This is a role where your organisational skills, people focus, and attention to detail will make a genuine difference to the day-to-day experience of hundreds of teaching staff who contribute to our students' success.

About the Role

As the Casual Academic Staff Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for casual academic staff at Macquarie Business School on employment matters, providing timely and accurate support while escalating complex issues as needed. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Organising and delivering induction sessions for new casual academic staff on employment matters and internal systems.

  • Conducting training sessions to support casual academics in navigating university platforms and tools.

  • Administering surveys, maintaining compliance records in the database, and reporting outcomes to departments.

  • Maintaining internal communications in partnership with the Casual Academic Staff Coordinator.

  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data within the casual academic staff database.

  • Coordinating recruitment activities as required by departments, including managing expressions of interest from prospective tutors and lecturers.

  • Providing administrative support for casual academic staff performance reviews.

  • Generating meaningful reports and data insights to support decision-making.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or relevant experience,

  • Experience providing administrative support and coordination within a complex environment, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks from start to finish,

  • Time management and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver on competing deadlines, with attention to detail and pride in the quality of work delivered,

  • Strong customer service focus and ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders,

  • Experience in interpreting and providing information across a range of policies and procedures, and

  • Experience in identifying, developing and implementing administrative process improvement initiatives, with demonstrated initiative and accountability for outcomes.
