The Castrol France Finance Advisor is responsible for integrating the full suite of Finance accountabilities and ensuring these are managed and delivered effectively for a part of the Castrol business in France. In particular, the incumbent is the local subject matter expert and point of contact for reviewing and implementing local statutory and group accounting policy and responsible for ensuring all accounting, reporting, control, are performed accurately, timely and efficiently in France.
The Castrol France Finance Advisor will safeguard the company and ensure accuracy and compliance with local tax requirements particularly associated with corporate income tax, withholding tax, sales tax, civil tax, property, agricultural and other local taxes.
The Castrol France Finance Advisor maintains close working relationships with other business stakeholders, acting as ‘co-pilot’ and providing professional Finance and Tax support.
The Castrol France Finance Advisor simultaneously manages many processes and issues, showing resilience and strong skills in prioritizing efforts.
Throughout the accountabilities of the role, the Castrol France Finance Advisor leads the identification of continuous efficiency improvements in Finance and Tax processes and drives continuous improvement of business performance.
He/She is accountable for the local delivery of period end close for statutory and group accounts, leads and co-ordinates local audit as well as local taxation accounting support for the relevant legal entities within France with proper coordination and building effective relationships with FBT organization, custom agencies, tax warehouses and external authorities.
Management and economic KPI‘s:
Single point of accountability and primary contact with regards to all matters related to corporate income tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, vat tax and excise tax.
Manages the company direct and local tax policies and ensure a robust control and monitoring environment and effective risk mitigation
Is key business interface and escalation point, fostering effective internal and external relationships
Support, co-ordinate and participate in internal and external tax audits and inspections
On request provides input to tax advocacy activities.
Liaises with FBT to ensure quality, completeness and accuracy of tax filing. Jointly pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.
Owns direct and indirect tax related procedures and processes and performs ongoing review of changes in national and international tax and accounting requirements to verify the relevance to France business and make appropriate interventions and implementations
Engages and supports in tax return preparation, validation and submission
Maintains the ERP financial and tax system
Support, advise and participate, when needed, in
Safeguards the company and contributes to operational performance by ensuring tax compliance and reporting
Support local adhoc project with particular focus on financial reporting, direct and local tax matters
Base pay range: €69,000 (minimum) - €99,000 (midpoint)
Master's Degree in Tax, Law or in Economics respectively Finance or Accounting is preferred.
Alternatively, an MBA in Finance and Tax or a comparable education.
Evidenced courses and certification in tax regulatory framework.
Up to 10% travel should be expected with this role
This role is not eligible for relocation
