We are seeking a freelance Casting Producer (Development Project) to join as soon as possible.
Contract Length:5 days spread across 2-3 weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and approach potential contributors across a range of casting channels
- Conduct casting interviews and assess contributors' suitability, comedic instincts, and on-screen potential
- Build and refine casting shortlists, identifying strong ensemble chemistry and compelling group dynamics
- Liaise with agents, managers, and talent representatives throughout the casting process
- Work closely with the Executive Producers and creative team to shape casting decisions in line with the editorial vision
- Support the casting process from initial outreach through to contributor confirmation, adapting casting plans as creative requirements evolve
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Extensive experience casting for constructed reality, reality, comedy entertainment, talent-led factual, or character-led factual productions
- Strong knowledge of UK comedy, digital creators, online talent, stand-up performers, and emerging comedy voices
- Excellent industry network across comedy and creator talent, including agents, managers, promoters, and digital platforms
- Strong instinct for ensemble casting, with the ability to identify chemistry, contrast, conflict, and repeatable character dynamics
- Experience assessing digital-first talent for long-form unscripted television and identifying contributors with strong on-screen potential
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills when working with contributors, agents, and creative teams
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly as creative requirements evolve
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused, with experience working on development projects for broadcasters and streaming platforms
