Shriners Children's Philadelphia has a full time Cast Tech position available!

This position provides assistance to the medical staff in the application, maintenance and removal of casts, traction and other splint or motion devices as ordered. It also informs patients/families, staff and students about the use and care of casts and traction devices.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting assigned Care Manager with nurse aide skills supporting the medical plan of care, as well as facilitating patient registration and appointment scheduling.
  • The Cast Tech will also support the Puerto Rico Clinic in a supporting role as defined by the Director of Outpatient Services. Duties to be assigned by the Care Manager assigned to a specific clinic specialty.
  • Demonstrates competency in the independent application and/or assistance with the application of a variety of wet plaster, fiberglass, soft casts, cast boots, and cast removal under the direction of the physician.

Qualifications

HS diploma/GED preferred

One year casting in pediatric orthopedics preferred

CNA preferred

BLS required
