Job summary

A. Client service and Quality performance
· Ensure the provision of efficient, timely and error-free processing services to the client entities.
· Provide professional direction/advice on all trade finance related matters within the company.
· Develop/create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), for performance monitoring and quality measurement purposes pertaining to platform Operations and monitor the achievements on a periodic basis.
· Maintain a good rapport with all internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and proactively position the platform.
· Ensure the existence of adequate procedures and processes to enable timely identification and resolution of instances of erroneous processing to avoid any financial or reputation loss to the Client.

B. Secure Processes and Set up Controls
· Ensure the existence of adequate and robust processes and controls (automated/ manual) to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
· Ensure adequate internal controls, policies exist pertaining to processing of transactions conducted by the operations units/departments, in compliance with the applicable regulations.
· Ensure robust financial security and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) controls are correctly applied across all trade finance transactions through rigorous verification of due diligence, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring. Ensure reduction in processing errors by staff engaged in processing related transactions through a combination of system controls, supervisory review and established/ approved procedures.
· Monitor and assess the Business Operations by reviewing daily exception reports and discussing significant matters with the heads of departments to ensure that the Company is not exposed to any related risk and that its revenues are optimized.
· Review, validate and approve processes and procedures as per the incumbent’s delegated authority.
· Ensure productivity control and efficiency measurements are in place. Also, continually review related reports for monitoring and control of the same.
C. People Management
· Perform managerial responsibilities that include:
- managing the career of each employee under the incumbent’s direct supervision and coordinating with them for their respective teams,
- monitoring the employee performance,
- providing adequate training and assistance,
- Talent promotion and managing employees’ career growth opportunities,
- giving continuous feedback and support to optimize the team performance,
- achieve and sustain high levels of employee engagement in the unit,
- focus on empathy and team spirit.
D. Process Optimization and Future Evolution
· Ensure system and quality enhancements by monitoring the respective activities and processes implemented, and by keeping abreast with emerging technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs)


Supplementary Information

· Define and execute operational strategy to support CASPL overall Trade Finance platform growth, incorporating digital transformation initiatives and innovative technologies to be able to optimize on the current set up and plan for its growth encompassing the entire chain of identifying the process needs /resources (recruitment to training of the team).
· Evaluate existing as well as new products/ services and provide recommendations on ways to improve the effectiveness/ efficiency of the transactions related to the same.
E. Projects and Change management
· Ensure managerial oversight with PCM to ensure delivery of support in the management of changes and transversal projects.
· Ensure Managerial oversight to assist the Business Analysts of the Financing and Trade Financing Projects in their assigned project deliverables.
· Ensuring the requisite participation of the operations teams in various global projects.

Postgraduate degree – MA/MSc/PhD/Doctorate or equivalent


Academic qualification / Speciality

- Master’s degree in business administration, or equivalent Professional qualification.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the Trade Finance Commercial Banking Operations in the Banking / BPO industry. Previous employment in international bank / BPO with exposure to Global Trade Finance processing is mandatory.
- Minimum 10 years in a manager role within the banking industry with experience of managing a team size of 30 or more required.

- Expert in all related aspects of the Trade Finance business, encompassing Trade Finance product knowledge. Complete understanding of the various Regulations governing this business: UCPDC, ISBP, ISP 98, URC provisions. Wide understanding of the market practices.

- Working knowledge of all aspects of Risks – Credit, Regulatory and Product.

- Prior experience in defining service level benchmarks and targets and their periodic monitoring.

- A background in operational metrics and well-versed in operating procedures and process maps.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

- Meticulous, organized and logical in approach to work/handling problems.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal/supervision skills.
