
Job Purpose or Objective(s): As a Mobile Patrol Officer, you will be responsible for the patrol and protection of all properties, while conducting scheduled and assigned tasks on the exterior of assigned properties, Travel Plazas, parking lots/structures etc. You will report to the Patrol Supervisor/Security Supervisor.
Start rate: $16.85 per hour until MMPI and the Security New Hire Training is passed. Once passed, pay rate will increase to $19.30 per hour | Full time | Variable shifts
Primary Tasks:
1. Patrols external company property and outlying structures while complying with all state and municipal traffic laws.
2. Investigate unusual or suspicious situations.
3. Assists with emergency situations including fires, and medical issues.
4. Monitor and assist traffic flow during special events.
5. Maintain security and procedures according to rules, including reporting activity to the appropriate dispatch, and referring dangerous situations or complex problems to supervisor.
6. Walk lots/structures and check external doors and stairwells hourly.
7. Possesses a thorough knowledge of company driving standards, regulations, and procedures.
8. Possess a thorough knowledge of all external site property, including ingress and egress routes, high flow areas, congestion areas, and alternative routes.
9. Drive and maintain department vehicles. While reporting any vehicle issue to management
10. Write incident report in departmental reporting software regarding all security issues, accidents, theft, or vandalism and submit it to the Security Supervisor.
11. You will perform other tasks as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· At least 21 years of age.
· Must acquire and maintain a state armed security License.
· Must be medically fit and able to perform all the essential functions of a Security Officer and pass a physical fitness test.
· Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
· Basic technology skills to enable report writing, composition or correspondence, Internet, and email.
· Must be able to walk/run and stand outside for a full eight (8) hour shift.
· Ability to reason and react calmly and quickly in emergency and life-threatening situations.
· Able to qualify yearly with department firearms.
