This mechanic position is responsible for making repairs, preforming preventative maintenance and trouble-shooting all types of vehicles, equipment and tooling owned by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and or the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel. Repairs shall be made in a safe and efficient manner. The chosen technician must have practical knowledge of various types of equipment, vehicles and tooling. He or she must have solid judgment and great mechanical aptitude. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with established company safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment to protect oneself and others that may enter into ones working area.
- Investigate complaints and malfunctions on various types of equipment and vehicles.
- Must be able to operate various types of vehicles, equipment and tooling.
- Preform preventative maintenance practices and ensure safe operation by analyzing the performance of equipment and vehicles.
- Preform complex repair work of any malfunctioning system or component to manufacturer’s specifications. This will include but not be limited to: engine, transmission, suspension, steering, hydraulic, fuel systems (gas and diesel), ignition, electrical, brake and HVAC systems.
- Will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of work competed.
- Ability to engage in heavy manual labor for extended periods of time in all types of weather and working conditions.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
Education/
Experience:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- This position requires a minimum of a two year enrolment in a vocational automotive or equipment program. A minimum of five years of working experience may be substituted for the vocational school requirement.
- Automotive SAE certificates, equipment EETC certificates and any other certificates in this field are desired

Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity is required.
- Considerable knowledge of standard practices, methods, material, tools and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of automotive and other power driven equipment and tools.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while demonstrating good time management skills required.
