Receives cash from customers or employees in payment for goods and records amounts received. Makes change, issues receipts and tickets to customers. Prepares reports of transactions. May make credit card transactions. Monitors the signature sheets for cash, credit and (Subsistence in Kind) patrons when necessary. Balance and verify cash collected. May be required to know value and features of items for which money is received. Keep reception/sign in area clean and free of safety hazards. Other duties assigned by the Dining Room Supervisor to include light cleaning of the dining room and setting up food service lines.
Qualifications
Experience with calculators and cash registers/POS. Academic skills suitable for ensuring developed forms are properly formatted, grammatically correct, and free of spelling errors and collections are accurate. Experienced in handling money and maintaining an efficient filing system. Excellent customer service skills. The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level required in the contract and upon receiving clearance eligibility must begin work within 30 days. Prepare and submit required NAVSUP 1291. Must be able to lift up to 25 LBS. Must be flexible with scheduling.
