Job Description

Handles customer transactions and operates cash register by processing payments and providing change. Essential Functions:

  • Records sales transactions and operates cash registers to process payments from customers.
  • Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct.
  • Answers customers' questions and provides information on policies, products, and promotions.
  • Resolves customer complaints and notifies supervisors or managers when necessary.
  • Maintains clean and orderly areas and assists with stocking as needed.
  • Balances cash drawers and prepares daily cash reports.


Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Ability to operate cash register and coin changer.


Experience:

One month experience in retail setting with use of cash register and cash handling, required.
