Cashier I - 50%-(26004703)

The University of Iowa Healthcare department of Food & Nutrition Services is seeking a Cashier to accept custody of cash receipts and fee payments in accordance with applicable fee and charge policies and established procedures. Duties may involve the use of personal computers, computer and point-of-sale terminals and a variety of software and/or conventional office equipment.

Duties to include:

  • Perform point of sale transactions at designated cashier stations
  • Complete deposits and appropriate paperwork
  • Follow University of Iowa Health Care Department of food and Nutrition Services cash handling procedures
  • Complete assigned cleaning duties

Schedule: 12:00pm - 10:30pm Saturday & Sunday

Pay Grade: 04

Salary: $17.93/ hour

Qualifications

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

One year of related work experience

Desirable Qualifications

  • Skills in handling customer concerns, requests, and complaints
  • Experience operating a cash register and similar equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and the public
  • Ability to count currency and make change accurately
  • Follow oral and written instructions
  • Experience with maintaining accurate records
