Cashier position

San Ramon Ace Hardware is seeking reliable and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as Cashiers. As the first point of contact for our customers, Cashiers play a crucial role in providing a positive shopping experience. The primary responsibilities include processing transactions accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers as they enter the store and thank them for their business upon exit
• Scan and ring up merchandise, ensuring accuracy in pricing and quantities
• Process cash, credit card, and other forms of payment in compliance with company policies
• Assist customers with product inquiries, locating items, and general store information
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area
• Follow proper procedures for handling returns, exchanges, and refunds
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations
• Uphold company standards for customer service excellence

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math proficiency
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks

Compensation: $17.00 - $17.50/HR
