Cash Management Accountant

Warsaw, Poland (hybrid - 3 days in office per week)

US work hours overlap would be required

The Cash Management Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording, reconciliation, and monitoring of high‑volume cash transactions for a U.S.-based public company, working within a European accounting team. This role owns daily and period‑end cash activities, including bank reconciliations, cash entry validation, and cash-related balance sheet reconciliations, and plays a key role in ensuring cash integrity, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and adherence to SOX control requirements

The position works closely with Treasury, U.S. Corporate Accounting, and other accounting team members (A2R, Inventory, Revenue) to support timely close processes, strong controls, and reliable financial reporting.

This role reports to a supervisor in the North America Controllership Team (outside of Europe).

Key Responsibilities

Cash Accounting & Daily Processing

  • Perform and validate daily cash postings and cash application entries across multiple bank accounts and entities
  • Monitor and review large volumes of cash transactions using KYRIBA and other treasury/cash management systems
  • Validate cash interfaces and investigate exceptions, posting errors, or timing differences
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of cash activity in the general ledger

Bank Reconciliations & Balance Sheet Ownership

  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and month‑end bank reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations for cash, restricted cash, and cash‑related clearing accounts
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with Treasury, AP, AR, and U.S. Accounting teams
  • Maintain clear, audit‑ready reconciliation support in line with SOX documentation standards

Month‑End Close & Reporting Support

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close activities related to cash and treasury accounts
  • Prepare and post cash‑related journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Provide cash reconciliation status, aging, and variance explanations to U.S. Corporate Accounting
  • Assist in preparing schedules and support for internal and external audits

Controls, Compliance & Process Excellence

  • Execute and document cash‑related SOX controls, ensuring consistency and compliance
  • Identify opportunities to improve cash reconciliation efficiency, automation, and data accuracy
  • Partner with Treasury and Accounting leadership on process improvements, system enhancements, and standardization
  • Support ad‑hoc analyses and reporting requests related to cash positions, trends, and exposures

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1 to 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in cash management, general ledger, R2R, or shared services environment
  • Experience preparing bank reconciliations and working with high‑volume transaction data
  • Exposure to U.S. GAAP and SOX‑controlled environments strongly preferred
  • Experience with treasury or cash management systems (experience with KYRIBA highly desirable)
  • Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail, particularly in reconciliations and data validation
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Very good written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus
  • Strong ownership mindset, analytical skills, and comfort working in a deadline‑driven public company environment
