Cash and banks Officer

The Cash & Banks Officer at Guardian Group Fatum is responsible for the complete, timely, and accurate processing of cash and bank transactions and related internal controls. The role ensures that cash and bank records are current, reliable, and maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, procedures, and control requirements.

In addition, the Cash & Banks Officer performs bank reconciliations, investigates transaction differences, monitors and clears suspense items, responds to payment-related inquiries, and supports the preparation of liquidity information for Finance and the Investment Department.

What are you going to do?

• Process, review, and record cash and bank transactions in the financial administration.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate differences between bank statements and the general ledger.
• Monitor, analyze, and clear cash- and bank-related suspense accounts.
• Investigate unidentified, incorrectly allocated, or complex payment transactions.
• Respond to inquiries from clients and internal departments regarding payments and bank transactions.
• Prepare and provide cash and liquidity information for payments and investment activities.
• Maintain complete supporting documentation and a clear audit trail.
• Contribute to timely month-end closing and accurate financial reporting.
• Identify errors or delays and follow up with the relevant departments until resolved.

What do we expect from you?

• Minimum associate degree or MBO-level qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in accounting, cash administration, bank processing, or reconciliations.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and general-ledger processing.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and suspense-account clearance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under deadlines.
