Job Description

  • Contract Type: Permanent 37.5 Hours Per Week
  • Location: 15, Castlemead, Lower Castle St, Broadmead, Bristol BS1 3AG
  • Salary: Circa £24,784.50
  • Days of Work: Monday to Friday
  • Hours of Work: 08:00 - 16:30

We are currently recruiting for a Cash and Banking Clerk to join our highly experienced Credit Management and Claims team.

As the Cash and Banking Clerk you will be responsible for ensuring that cash received is banked and allocated to the system in a prompt and accurate manner. Other key responsibilities will include;

  • Sorting and preparing all incoming cheques for daily banking
  • Creating daily cheque listings
  • Allocating clients monies correctly to their accounts and contacting clients for allocation details where necessary
  • Set up new direct debits, make any amendments to direct debits, request payment from the bank and deal with any direct debit queries
  • Monitor BACs reports to ensure that all failed direct debits and payments are: posted to the system promptly
  • Ensure that all same day and faster payments are allocated to the system promptly and accurately
  • Ensure that all daily credit card submissions, and posted and allocated promptly and accurately
  • Import bacs payments from the banking system, run auto allocation of payments and then complete manual allocations
  • Allocation reversals and account reconciliations
  • Daily reporting

Qualifications

As the successful candidate your career history will evidence demonstrable experience in working within an accounts receivable or cash collection role. Due to the nature of our business the ability to thrive in a busy and fast paced environment would be preferred.

Your strong organisational skills and high attention to detail are fully utilised in this role. Alongside these you will need to have;

  • The ability to effectively handle challenging conversations and setbacks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate with the ability to use google suite and in house computer system Agresso and Salesforce would be an advantageous
  • Ability to analyse data, identify errors and rectify any issues
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver fantastic results
