About the role:
• Full-time contract position for 3 months – looking at extending, located in Port Macquarie NSW
• Base annual rate of $82,622 to $90,226 negotiable based on experience & qualifications
• 12% super plus access to generous NFP salary packaging options
About the opportunity:
As a Family Support Case Worker, you’ll provide early intervention and prevention support to families experiencing complex challenges, helping reduce risks and strengthen family wellbeing before crises escalate.
You’ll work directly with children, young people, parents and carers to build safer, stronger family environments through practical support, advocacy and meaningful relationships.

What you’ll be doing:
• Walk alongside families to provide early intervention and case management support
• Help create safe and nurturing environments for children and young people
• Assess family strengths and needs to develop child-focused goals and practical support plans
• Support parents and carers to build confidence and parenting skills through coaching, role modelling and education
• Facilitate parent groups, playgroups and home visits to strengthen family connection and resilience
• Advocate for families and connect them with ongoing services and community supports
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure holistic support for families
• Maintain accurate case notes and records to support quality service delivery
• Respond to child safety concerns in line with mandatory reporting requirements and organisational policies
Your Qualifications & Experience
• Qualifications in social sciences or relevant experience working with children and families
• Knowledge of child protection and family support practices
• Understanding of the challenges impacting children and families, particularly within regional and Aboriginal communities
• Strong relationship-building and advocacy skills
• A commitment to child safety and family wellbeing
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or varied hours to meet family needs
• A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to transport families
• A current NSW Working With Children Check
