Expressions of interest are invited from substantive B2 grades on level transfer to the role of case worker within the Redress Operations Unit.
Caseworkers within the Operations Unit receive and process applications to Scotland’s Redress Scheme, supporting survivors and other applicants up to the point when their application is passed to Redress Scotland for a determination. This work provides challenge and opportunity for those with an interest in contributing to an area where you can make a very real difference to the lives of those who have suffered historical child abuse in Scotland.
You will be the first point of contact for survivors seeking information about the redress scheme and its application processes, and provide support throughout the process of applying for redress by advising how to apply, giving information on what documents are needed and how to find supporting documentation or signpost to agencies who can help.
You will work as part of a team to deliver consistent, survivor centred support, ensuring applications are progressed and each applicant has a clear point of contact.

Working Pattern
These posts are based in Edinburgh (VQ). Please note that these posts will be in line with the current hybrid policy with a requirement for attendance in the office 2 days per week however, this will only be implemented following a period of initial office based training.
These are permanent posts and are available as a full-time role. Staff with alternative working patterns are also invited to apply. We will assess proposed working patterns against the business requirements for this post.
The work is personally and professionally rewarding but can also be challenging. We recognise working with this subject matter is not for everyone. We are looking for colleagues with strong interpersonal skills and resilience, capable of handling sensitive and challenging telephone conversations with survivors of abuse.
There will be bespoke professional support covering resilience and self-care available for all staff in these roles.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by panel. Shortlisted candidates who are considered to have the skills and experience will be invited to interview with the hiring manager and another panel member. The panel will recommend the candidate considered most suitable for the post.
