We have an opportunity for a B2 / Marine Licensing Casework Manager to join the Marine Directorate - Licensing Operations Team on a temporary basis for 12 months to support delivery of the marine licensing functions of the Regulator. This is an ideal development opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience in operational delivery.
The successful post holder will be responsible for processing applications for licences, assisting in the team’s compliance and enforcement activity and ensuring that procedures are followed. The role provides high quality service to Scottish Ministers, applicants and stakeholders, in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
The job holder will ensure that applications for marine licences (under the Marine Acts) are dealt with correctly and within agreed timescales, and provide guidance to licensing casework officers.
• Provide clear direction and guidance to licensing officers in their consideration of applications for marine licences.
• To manage the risks of the post consenting processes by ensuring procedures are adhered to, implementing recommendations and providing clear direction for staff.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with Applicants and liaise with stakeholders in discussions relating to licensing processes.
• Ensure that licensing work is carried on in line with procedures and in compliance with Habitats Regulations Appraisal and Environmental Impact Assessment.
• Project manage a portfolio of applications for large marine projects.
• Line and work management of licensing casework officers.
Working pattern
This role is a temporary position with an expected commitment of 12 months
