Coordinates the utilization process and monitor the appropriateness and clinical necessity of admissions, continued stays and discharges. Coordinates resources to maximize clinical and financial outcomes for the Behavioral Intervention Team.
Essential Functions

Evaluates level of care for appropriateness and communicates pertinent clinical information to physicians, and members of the interdisciplinary as needed.
Collects and prepares reports on data requested for case management and/or quality purposes, and reports data as directed.
Pursues organizational goals: reduced LOS, improved patient and team member experience, and quality metrics in the acute care environment.
Coordinates care and educates physicians and other staff to facilitate the effective use of clinical and financial resources, focusing on admission, concurrent/continued stay and discharge planning needs in an effort to obtain acute care certification for the patient.
Serves as a resource to physicians, social workers and other staff for quality and utilization issues in the acute care environment as well as discharge planning needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Social Work, or Counseling
Experience - Five (5) years of experience in Behavioral Health
