Your Opportunity
This is an opportunity to support women and children across Far West NSW who have experienced domestic and family violence and are choosing to remain safely in their own home or a home of their choice. As a Case Worker within the Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV) program, you will play a key role in promoting safety, stability, and housing security while helping to prevent homelessness.

You will provide trauma-informed case management, safety planning, and practical support to women aged 18 and over, while also supporting children affected by family violence. This long-term, needs-based program focuses on empowering women to rebuild safety and independence within their own communities.

Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will partner with police, health services, Housing NSW, Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Services, and other local supports to ensure coordinated and effective responses. The role requires sensitivity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to supporting women with complex and often high-risk circumstances.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide case management, safety planning, advocacy, referrals, and practical support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence through the SHLV program.

  • Respond to referrals and client presentations, ensuring case notes, risk assessments, and administrative duties are completed within required timeframes.

  • Deliver outreach and ongoing support to help women remain safely in their home or secure safe housing of their choice.

  • Work collaboratively with police, health services, Housing NSW, court advocacy services, and other local stakeholders.

  • Build respectful, culturally safe and trauma-informed relationships with women, children, and families.

  • Ensure safety and wellbeing remain central to all case planning and service delivery.

Requirements for success

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence, case management, or community services.

  • Experience supporting women and children with complex needs, including family violence, trauma, and housing instability.

  • Strong skills in case management, risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention.

  • Ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and within regional and remote communities.

  • Current unrestricted Driver Licence.

  • First Aid & CPR Certificate desirable but not essential.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.

To ensure our employees feel valued, empowered, and celebrated, we provide a range of employee benefits including:
