Your Opportunity

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of families affected by Domestic and Family Violence in the Parkes LGA?

Mission Australia is proud to offer the opportunity to join our Safe and Strong Families program, a targeted early intervention initiative designed to empower families by delivering therapeutic, trauma-informed, and culturally safe support to victim survivors and their children.

As a Case Worker, you will play a vital role in providing case management, education, and skills programs to support families experiencing, or who have experienced, domestic and family violence. Your work will help create safer, stronger futures for families in need.

This is a maximum-term, full-time contract until 30 June 2027, with the possibility of extension.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide case management, advocacy, referral pathways, and support to families who are experiencing, or who have experience DFV.

  • Responding appropriately to referrals, ensuring all administrational duties are completed in a timely manner.

  • Deliver targeted DFV intervention education and skills programs

  • Work cooperatively to raise community awareness of family violence.

  • Develop sustainable relationships with key external stakeholders including other service providers, community service workers, government agencies, and agencies

  • Ensure the safety of children is foremost in all case planning, actions and thinking.

Requirements for Success:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, or other relevant discipline / or relevant experience

  • Demonstrated work experience working within the Family and Domestic Violence sector.

  • Familiarity of working with families with complex issues and needs relating to domestic violence, homelessness, substance abuse, and mental health.

  • Demonstrated case management and intervention delivery skills

  • Experience facilitating and delivering education programs in a group setting

  • Full driver licence with no restrictions

  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate desired but not required

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
