Duties & Responsibilities

Coordination and Execution of Instructions/Collections/Deliveries

• · Read and action emails and instructions
• · Maintain timeous communication with drivers
• · Provide updates after hours, after 18h00 weekdays and on weekends to Cartage Management - (shift dependable).
• · Escalate truck breakdowns to Cartage management
• · Check and secure appointments on NAVIS
• · Update and report drivers’ daily attendance once per shift
• · Action deliveries based on the cartage management planning
• · Capture all movements live onto Netterm
• · Assist with weighing containers after hours/ when required
• · Ensure all drivers complete the truck and trailer checklists
• · Download all import vessels to ensure vessel is clear
• · Write out documents/XHD’s when required.

Health & Safety Regulations

• Ensuring that the drivers adhere to the necessary PPE requirements. Randomly check that the owner operated trucks are compliant with the national roadworthy act as well as ensuring that they are safety compliant.

People Supervision

• · Supervising the MSC Log drivers and escalating areas of concern to management.

Administration

• · Ensuring that all instructions received from the planner are adhered to and actioned timeously with live capturing as the core administration function.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience Required for this position.

• Grade 12
• Preferably 3 years’ experience in a similar position
• Good verbal and written English communication skills
• Computer literacy
