Job Responsibilities:

Maintaining Communication Regularly touch base with your team of independent contractors to discuss their performance, address any concerns, and provide support as needed. Utilize various communication channels such as phone calls, emails, and possibly even a dedicated messaging platform for quick updates.

Empowering Team Members Provide comprehensive insights into the contractors' performance metrics, such as delivery times, efficiency, and customer satisfaction ratings. Offer guidance on areas where they can improve and share successful strategies from other team members.

Developing Relationships with Drivers Act as a liaison between the drivers and the company, addressing any issues or challenges they encounter on the road promptly and effectively. Offer support and mentorship to help drivers grow professionally and feel valued within the organization.

Monitoring Freight Movements Keep a close eye on the progress of freight shipments to ensure they are on schedule and meet specified delivery deadlines. Use tracking systems and software to stay informed about any potential delays or issues that may arise during transit.

Communicating Delays to Customer Service If there are any disruptions or delays in freight movements, promptly communicate these to the customer service team so they can notify affected customers and manage expectations accordingly.

Being the Voice of the Driver Advocate for the needs and concerns of the drivers within the company, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in decision-making processes.

The job location is in Nashville, TN, with regular office hours from Monday to Friday, along with occasional Saturday shifts to accommodate business needs.

Our company was founded in 1991 by Wayne and Donna Wise. After the passing of Wayne Wise in 2010, the future of the company was placed in the hands of the existing management team. In 2019, Western Express was able to provide the opportunity for the Wise family to redeem most of their shares. They will maintain a minority shareholder position. The current management team now owns the majority interest.
