Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage Carrier onboarding process per company policy, regulatory requirements, FMCSA standards
  • Verifies Carrier compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing DOT/FMCSA compliance.
  • Verifies and audits Carrier compliance to Crane’s security requirements, particularly those contracted to carry high value/theft attractive cargo.
  • Ensures all security incidents/breaches are logged in the QHSE Management system.
  • Partners with Corporate Security to drive investigations with Carriers in the event of incident/breach.
  • Conducts and coordinates audits of Carrier safety programs and regularly reviews Carriers CSA scores for compliance to their contractual obligations to Crane Solutions.
  • Ensures all incidents/accidents involving Crane Solutions contracted carriers are reported in Crane’s QHSE Management System
  • Responsible for collecting all supporting documentation from Carriers for incident/accident reporting, tracking and investigation.
  • Coordinates with Corporate HSE and Corporate Risk on accident investigations and subrogation recoveries from Carriers.
  • Coordinates with Corporate HSE and Fleet Safety to ensure alignment of all policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely submission and data integrity of all STARS reports.
  • Audit STARS records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide Crane Solutions leadership with trend analysis, scorecards, and compliance insights derived from STARS data, in partnership with Corporate HSE & Risk.
  • Facilitates and completes damages/claims process with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support training and awareness initiatives for internal teams related to freight security and fraud prevention.
  • Stay current on emerging transportation security risks and recommend policy updates accordingly
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Significant knowledge of DOT and FMCSA requirements, standards and regulations. Expert/Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and comprehension)
  • Highly motivated and energetic with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and continually changing environment
  • Ability to operate independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff at all levels
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills - Demonstrates initiative and adaptability

Physical Requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree Experience managing multi-state fleets or carriers operating under complex regulatory environments.
  • Minimum 3 or more year’s experience managing third party carriers
  • Minimum 3 or more year’s industry experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.
