Job Description
This person will make maintenance repairs to facilities and equipment. Work hours are determined by the College and are subject to change. Academic year and summer hours are established to meet the needs of the department and the College. This position may be required to work during delays and snow closure days that may fall on scheduled workdays; will be required to work overtime on short notice to include evenings, weekends, special events and call ins at the discretion of the appropriate supervisor; and will be subject to emergency call-in and must respond within a required period of time. This position requires travel to other campus sites using a College vehicle.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Completion of technical courses at a school, institute, or branch of the armed services OR on-the- job training in maintenance work which qualifies person to perform duties listed above. Required
- High school diploma OR equivalent. Required
EXPERIENCE
- Proven work record performing duties listed above with four (4) years hands-on experience in the carpentry field. Required
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Ability to read, write and interpret instructions. Required
- Possession of a valid driver's license. Required
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, etc. Required
- Must be able to work on assignments with little supervision. Required
- Possession of basic computer skills. Required
Responsibilities
- Erect wood and steel building frames, partitions, and roofs. Install exterior and interior trim, moldings, baseboards, doors, door frames, and sheet rock; lay floors; build concrete forms, scaffolds; and perform miscellaneous functions requiring the cutting, shaping, and fastening together of wood or other materials.
- Work at bench; operate circular and radial saws, planes, shapers, and other mechanical woodworking tools.
- Perform formica and solid surface work as requested.
- Lay and repair flooring to include, carpet, LVT, LVP and ceramic.
- Perform miscellaneous utility wood cabinet work.
- Make, assemble, and repair wood equipment for production and maintenance use such as: screens, boxes, steps, guides, etc.
- Make repairs to concrete work as required, including walls, ceilings, floors, steps, walkways, and roadways.
- Install and/or make necessary adjustments or repairs to doors, external or internal, for proper functioning.
- Check and clean roofs, roof drains, downspouts, vents, doors, walls, etc., on a routine basis for litter, wear and tear; repair as needed.
- Oil, grease, or otherwise properly service anything that requires routine attention to keep it operating properly, e.g., hinges, wheels, tools, etc.
- Report problems not capable of handling to the Maintenance Supervisor for proper guidance.
- Apply stain/oil/latex finish to a variety of surfaces.
- Perform drywall repairs, finishing and painting.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble and/or disassemble prefabricated metal partitions, knocked down metal furniture, etc.
- Perform minor repairs on kitchen equipment.
Physical Standards and Special Job Features
- May travel between buildings during shift.
- Exposure to dust and harsh chemicals.
- Lifting 65 lbs. maximum, without assistance, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Work in extreme weather and temperature conditions.
- Climbing ladders and working at heights and using lifts to complete work as needed.
Pay Transparency
$25.02 per hour.
